POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Director, the Academic Counselor will provide support services, coordinate academic
success programs, and collaborate with various internal constituencies on support initiatives. The academic
counselor will be responsible for data collection and reporting as appropriate. In addition, the Academic Counselor
will supervise and train student staff and engage in professional development to implement best practices.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
1. Higher education experience in, or related to, academic support and advising, including experience with direct
student support.
2. Bachelors'' degree required. Masters'' degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology or related field preferred.
3. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations.
4. Must possess excellent interpersonal communication skills, strong organizational skills and have the ability to
successfully cultivate collaborative relationships with students, faculty, staff, and professional colleagues.
J2WPROFEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
