The position must exemplify the core values and mission of the practice and provide care that reflects initiative and responsibility indicative of professional expectations Duties and Responsibilities include:
Answer telephones (primary); Maintain a full-time presence on the telephone.
Receive and triage patient calls to appropriate practice department; thoroughly documenting actions in patient chart using patient cases.
Obtain relevant patient demographic and insurance information and verify that it is updated in chart.
Schedule follow-up visits and other appointments for patients and/or coordinate with Schedulers for scheduling of interventional procedures.
Contribute to a positive patient experience by minimizing missed calls, responding timely to voicemail and email messages, communicating effectively, being proactive, and following issues through to resolution.
Proactively monitor and manage the clinic schedules, rescheduling appointments as needed for blocked time and, to minimize gaps in appointments etc.
Minimize care gaps by working appointment reminders (in addition to no shows) and/or reaching out to patients who are due for an appointment to get them scheduled.
Track no-show patients and reschedule, if necessary.
Review Practice Financial Policy with patients, when necessary.
Instruct patients on office billing policies and answer any questions the patients have regarding services, fees, and account status.
Maintain a working knowledge about contract requirements for patients, e.
g.
, copayments.
Request appropriate payment for services rendered and / or outstanding balance, as appropriate.
Collect payments over the phone as needed.
Routinely monitor EMR inboxes for messages and distribute to appropriate staff for follow up.
Batch money and checks received for processing by Business Office and complete Front Office Balancing Sheet and provide to Business Office Manager daily Job Type:
