The Human Resources department services employees in our tribal government offices and healthcare services division which includes a primary care clinic and home health services.
This position will be located in our Mechanicsville office.
Position The Human Resource Generalist will research, develop, and implement effective recruiting and staffing strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified and capable talent.
This position will also support the Human Resource Director with complex and specialized tasks supporting benefits administration, performance management, personnel records management, and report generation for a diverse employee population.
Primary Duties and
Responsibilities:
Develops, facilitates, and implements all phases of the recruitment process.
Collaborates with department directors to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria.
Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on available role, industry standards, and the needs of the organization.
Facilitates the job posting and advertisement processes (both internal and external) and maintains accurate records of active job openings.
Screens applications and selects qualified candidates.
Schedules interviews; oversees preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials.
Assists with the interview process, attending and conducting interviews with managers, directors, and other stakeholders.
Conducts background checks and employment verifications.
Coordinate and facilitate new hire orientation and onboarding program.
Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; training and development.
Plans and supports employee-wide information meetings such as open enrollment, new hire orientation, and meetings to announce or discuss changes in benefits plans.
Maintains employee records, ensuring completion and accuracy of details such as employee contact information, job classification, pay rates, organizational structure, and other key details.
Performs administrative and recordkeeping tasks related to staffing changes, which may include transfers, promotions, resignations, terminations, and extended leaves of absence.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Ability Qualifications Ability to create and implement sourcing strategies for recruitment for a variety of roles.
Experience recruiting in a healthcare setting is preferred.
Experience working with an HRIS (ADP - Workforce Now).
Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experiences:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent work experience, required.
At least five years of experience managing all phases of the recruitment and hiring process, or human resources generalist experience in a professional setting.
Expertise in one or more areas of HR, delivering HR services such as recruiting, benefits, compensation, HRIS or talent management.
Knowledge of standard Human Resources concepts, practices and procedures.
